Maintenance and adjustment of Disconnectors 1

Part One: Theory
• Functions, types and characteristics of disconnectors,
• Construction of disconnectors,
• Mechanical characteristics guaranteeing the opening and closing of a disconnector,
• Sequencing of the Substation or motor stop contacts of a 63 or 90kV disconnector control,
• Maintenance and characteristic faults of disconnectors in operation,
• Manual operation of disconnectors in safety and precautionary measures.

Second part: Practical
• Resetting a 63 or 90kV pantograph disconnector, guaranteeing its technical suitability for operation and using the necessary tools,
• Re-adjust a 63 or 90kV rotary disconnector, guarantee its technical suitability for operation and use the necessary tools,
• Check that the Substation and motor stop contacts of an electrical disconnector control are correctly linked.

• Identify the main types of disconnector in use and their general characteristics: rotary, pantograph, semi-pantograph,
• Know how the 3 main parts of a disconnector are made up: active part, kinematics and control,
• Identify the characteristics which guarantee that a disconnector is closed or open,
• Check that the Substation and motor stop contacts of an electrical disconnector control are correctly linked,
• Know the maintenance policy for disconnectors,
• From a visual diagnosis, identify the characteristic faults of a latent fault that could generate a serious operating fault,
• Check that the Substation and motor stop contacts of an electrical disconnector control are correctly linked,
• Diagnose a fault on a disconnector by means of checks and/or measurements, and implement precautionary measures,
• Realign the control kinematics of a disconnector (rotary or pantograph 63 or 90 kV).
