• Transformer technology (magnetic circuit, windings, etc.),
• Incidents (external phenomena, internal faults),
• Means of protection (direct and indirect protection),
• Accessories (conservators, aerosols, pumps, etc.),
• Transformer oil treatment,
• Sealing system technology, management of valves and drains,
• Overhead bushing technology,
• Practical exercise: replacing a bushing,
• Practical exercise: replacing a motor pump unit,
• Transformer insulation principles and testing techniques,
• Insulation fault location and repair (theoretical input and practical exercise),
• Presentation of transformer diagnostic methods and their fields of application, in particular: electrical measurement using the DOBLE bridge, fault location using the acoustic method (partial discharges), oil and paper analysis, endoscopic inspection,
• Transformer feedback.

/ Objective

• Explain the operating principle of a transformer and the role of its various components,
• Explain the components of transformer bushings,
• Name the different technologies present on the RTE network and their specific features,
• Take an oil sample from a transformer bushing,
• Replace a transformer bushing,
• Replace a motor-driven pump unit,
• Describe the techniques for measuring the insulation of a transformer tank,
• Locate and repair a tank insulation fault,
• Identify an internal fault in a transformer using oil analysis,
• Explain transformer oil treatment techniques and acceptance criteria,
• Explain the different methods of diagnosing the condition of transformers (Doble bridge, locating faults by acoustic method, oil and paper analysis, endoscopic inspection),
• Explain the different technologies of tap changers found in the RTE fleet, as well as their specific features,
• Carry out maintenance on a D and M type tap changers in accordance with OMF policy.
